Dear Baby

I'm sorry that I've been so sick lately. Neither I, nor your daddy, can remember the last time I've been this sick.  I can't help but think that you have gotten annoyed with all of the jerking around from my coughs and sneezes, not to mention all the times I've blown my nose.  Sometimes, I wonder if you like it, like being on a jerky roller coaster.

Thank you, though, for keeping me company when Daddy has been gone at work and school.  Your constant kicking assures me that you are doing just fine, even though I have lost a couple pounds. They told me that as long as I keep all the nutrients coming in that you would be fine.  You can thank Daddy for that. He has made 3 trips to the store so far to make sure that I get the most nutritious and organic soups and smoothies out there.  He is also keeping track for me of when I need to take my next set of medicines and pills, cleans the house up for me, and gets me things that I need so I don't have to get up.  This way, we can stay comfortable while I try to get better.    He's a good daddy to you already.

I also have like our conversations during my baths.  I had originally only wanted to take them because it would relax my achy body, but I realized that it's some good "us" time.  I like that you kick back in response when I talk to you and ask you how you are doing.  By the way, this little game you are playing with Daddy needs to stop. When I can feel that you are in a good kicking mood, and I tell Daddy to come and feel, don't stop kicking, only to start back up again after he removes his hands. It's not funny! Well, ok, it kind of is, but you need to let Daddy feel you every now and then!

By the way, we have a couple friends who are having girl babies around the same time you will be born, and they already want you to take their daughters out on dates when you are older. Don't worry, we'll start weeding out the crazies as they come along...

Love, Mommy

  1. So I have to say that I think this one is funny. My son played that "don't kick when daddy is around" game too, but he eventually got over it and more than once would kick his dad in the back or the head or whatever he could...through my belly of course. And I think you are pretty lucky to have such a helpful husband. mine was super helpful...but he also lived in SLC 5 days of the week while I lived in St George. Count your blessings. I'm sure one day our boys will go TPing together or something. Surely it will happen.
